Butterflies are one of the most fascinating and beautiful insects. Watching them flutter on rows of colorful and scented flowers makes you smile.
In Marinduque there is a place where in you can watch butterflies!!! Welcome to “Marinduque Lepidoptera Farm and Garden” which is located at Baranggay Uno, Gasan Marinduque.
The place is not really big. It’s kind of like a small garden at your backyard with an enclosed green house (with green nets as a wall) filled with butterflies. The place has an entrance fee as you can see in the picture:

Once inside there is a lady there (whom I forgot to ask the name and who is also the owner) who will greet you inside the garden. Before proceeding to the butterfly house, she will give the visitors a brief history of Marinduque. For example, how Marinduque got its name, other tourist spots in the province and so on and so forth. For a fee you can take home a butterfly, make a wish then release it. It is an additional enjoyment for kids and maybe adults.

Time to get inside the butterfly house!!!
Unfortunately do not expect a grand and numerous hectare size garden. Like what I stated above it is a small garden and the butterfly house has the size of a tiny bedroom but I think kids will surely appreciate and experience the joy of watching the butterflies flying around like flower petals. It is also an educational tour for them minus the reptiles, mammals and other species of the animal kingdom. Besides, this is a great opportunity to learn about the different Life Cycle of animals as well.
By the way, just like any other tourist spots there is a souvenir shop in front of the garden wherein you can buy t-shirts, shawls, pencils, toys, ref magnets and other thingamajigs!!!
